How to create a subscription website.

October 28th, 2008 by Old Dude Misc

I was reading about how to create a subscription website and while I was reading the article I wondered if it would work the same way from a blog?

From my point of view security would be the largest problem, particularly for me. I know a little about htaccess but not near enough to keep out people who want to break in. Strongbox - The next generation in site security is what the site was recommending but I don’t know anything about it, at all.

I can understand the part about the members section having to be in a different directory that’s password protected so that’s no problem. What I don’t understand is what other risks there are. Does anyone else know or have an idea where I can find out.

Not that it matters to much as I don’t know what I’d be talking about or writing about that people would pay to get into a subscription website. Sure, I know a lot of stuff but it all seems like common knowledge to me so in my mind it’s a waste of time creating a website about it or even worrying about security on something I doubt people would buy a subscription for.

I’m going to be looking at different things because with the economy I could sure use the extra cash. Creating a new subscription website may be what I decide to do if I can figure out what I know that people will pay for.
