LuComServer_3_4.EXE
LuComServer_3_4.EXE is a freaking resource hog. I’ve been searching for why my PC has been so slow for over a month and I finally figured it out. It’s been so slow as to be next to unusable.
Now I’m not running the newest and greatest or fastest but I am running a Dell Inspiron Laptop with 1 gig of memory and 230 gig or so of hard drive space with XP Pro SP2 and all updates. Damn PC got so slow I was considering buying a new one.
I ran PCPitStop optimize a few times, defragged a bunch of times and the damn thing was still next to unusable. Freaking Norton, in my opinion, is worse than a damn virus. Considering I’ve been using he net for 27 years I’ve had a few virii in my day and damn few of them ever slowed me down as much as LuComServer_3_4.EXE does. Only once did I ever lose a HD to a virus.
When the protection you are paying big bucks for causes more problems than it prevents or makes your PC next to unusable there isn’t much sense in having it. Sheesh, I used to think Microsoft was bad but this is worse than anything MS ever dreamed up.
Turning off live update got rid of it for a few minutes but when I went back and looked a bit later the piece of shit was back and conmsuming resources, again so I had to turn off protection for Norton Products. Sheesh.
It got so bad the char buffer couldn’t even update as I typed. I could type whole lines and then have to stop and wait for the damn typing to show up on the page and my scrolling mouse was more like a drunken mouse. Turn the wheel and nothing happened and then SECONDS later it might scroll a half a page.
Interesting since I shut it off and turned off protection everything works as it should again. Does this make Nortonm a virus? By definition it certainly seems to as it does things to my computer I don’t want it to do and makes it next to unusable. Ain’t that some great protection.
With all the complaints I’ve seen on the net about it during my search for a cure for the problem I’m quite sure Norton knows about it. No, I didn’t bother to go to their website. Been there, done that before and it was a waste of time.
When the solution becomes worse than the problem it’s time for a new solution. AVG here I come. Next problem is getting it all uninstalled and getting a refund from Norton for an unusable product. That ought to be a trip and should be worth a few posts. Watch this space for more about this problem.
