Obama, the economy and McCain

July 25th, 2008 by Old Dude Politics

Obama’s oveseas and appears to be popular. At least with the media and the way they are slanting it. Of course it helps that he’s popular with the media too. To bad McCain isn’t as popular as Obama is with the meida.

Lol, I hate Fox news with their fair and balanced crap which to me is unfair and unblanced but at least on this subject, for the time being they are being more fair than the other networks. Sheesh, when I say anything good about Fox news it must really be something rare.

Not that it matters but it does make me wonder how much the bias of the television networks has to do with electing a president. At the moment I see no way John McCain can be elected with the unbalanced reproting being done by ABC, CBS and NBC.

Heh, about the only ones who get it right are the late show comedians and that’s a hell of a way to elect a president. Even more interesting is who are they both going to pick as the Vice President. For sure not Hillary.

Considering it took both parties to get us into the big, and seemingly unsolvable, mess we are in I don’t think I’m going to vote for either. I expect I’ll waste my vote on the Libertarian party. At least they haven’t messed up the country so bad it can’t be fixed.

Hmmm, as I ask a friend now and then when they are or have been acting stupid “How’s that working for you?” and most of the time they answer that it isn’t. Well, republicans and democrats stopped working some time back so in my opinion it’s time to look to someone else or another party to start running the country.

Obama is right, it’s time for a change. Not for a change of president tho but for a change of the party running things. For sure the reps and dems haven’t come up with anything new so why not put someone in the Presidential office who hasn’t been there before. Someone who is for the people and for less govt interference in our lives.

I haven’t seen a plan for the economy from either McCain or Obama that is actually designed to fix our economy and I doubt that I will. It’s the same old crap we hear every election and it’s from the same old parties that got us into the mess we are in.

How they can even justify asking for our votes is totally beyond my comprehension. Sheesh, come up with something new, come up with something to fix the oil problem we have, come up with something new to fix the problem of the working poor and don’t tell me minimum wage just went up. The price of gas ate all that up and a lot more. Plus eating up the tax rebates.

Speaking of eating, have you been food shopping lately. Hmm, maybe not what with all the E-coli scares and the underfunded and undermanned FDA to do the inspections. McCain wants to cut taxes and IMO that will just mean more cuts of people needed to inspect our food and enforce our laws.

Eating has gotten to be more dangerous than a possible terrosist attack that we have all lost some of our freedoms over. It’s time to quit sending billions overseas for oil, it’s time to quit spending our young mens lives on the war and time to make a change to our govt that will benefit us all, strengthen our economy and make us all safer and better off.

Same old party lines, same old crap about the economy and the same old crap about everything. Just new faces saying it. Absolutely nothing new at all. That’s not change, that’s just continuing on as we are and that hasn’t worked for years.

Change what you do, vote for neither party and send them a strong message to get their acts together, put the counry first over their petty little disagreements and do the right thing for a change. The country needs different leader ship and by diffeent I mean NOT a dem or rep.

Vote for anyone else and let them know if hey don’t get it ight this 4 years the 4 years after that are going to be a lot different. It’s the only way to force them to change. Of course it’s not quite the change Obama wants but it’s a change that will benefit us all.

Don’t vote republican or democrat this year. Vote for someone who hasn’t put us where we are now even if it’s Santa Claus. Things sure can’t get much worse. How the hell do you end up with even more people below the poverty line when you raise the minimum wage? Lol, we’ve managed to do it.

Yes, it’s time for a change.
