What can we do about gas prices?

What can we do about gas prices and why are gas prices so high? Hmmm, perhaps invading Iraq so we could control their oil wasn’t such a great idea after all.

Lets see now, after hurricane Katrina the govt said gas prices were up because some refineries got damaged. With gas being so important to us wouldn’t you think they might have started building a couple of new refineries?

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that if the refiners were running at 99.9% capacity before Katrina, one or two being damaged could have a big effect on the price of gas. You know how many refineries we’ve built in the last 30 years? Hey, didn’t we have a gas crisis 35 years ago.

What can we do about gas prices? Well, maybe, just maybe, we might want to start getting on the govt to get their oil buddies to build at least two more, if not three, in the interest of national security. What? Yah really think there won’t be riots when people have to choose between food, gas and electricity.

We need to do as other countries have done and just get the hell off of an oil based economy and get the hell on one like Iceland or Sweden. As RFK Jr said last night, “We(the USA) are the Saudi Arabia of wind energy” Yep, electric cars and electric buses and trains all work very well.

Funny that the countries that get away from an oil based economy do better economically isn’t it? We could certainly do without the 1 billon plus dollars we send overseas for oil. Darn, it’s good for the environement, it’s good for pollution, it’s good for health and we save money. Sounds like a no brainer huh?

Well then why the hell aren’t we doing it? It’s definitely something we can do about gas prices. Oh, BTW, you notice the govt quit buying oil for the national oil reserve. They said prices were to high and they were going to wait for them to come down. So do what you need to do to make them come down.
