China, melamine, lead and imports from China

October 3rd, 2008 by Old Dude World

China? What’s up with imports from China. Turns out, once again products have been pulled from shelves in the USA because it’s possibly contaminated with melamine.

Worse yet, according to this article in the NY Times some in the Chinese company knew of the problem as early as Dec. of 2007. Typical bureaucratic BS is what I’d call it. Heaven forbid they sully the Chinese dairy or even the country, before the Olympics.

Never mind 3 children have died so far and 53,000 others are sick it’s not anywhere close to over. It’s being found in all kinds of thing exported from China. Sheesh, last time all they killed, as far as we know, is some pets in this country.

Besides the melamine there’s also the problem with lead in toys imported from China. After a couple of toy recalls I stated we should just flat out stop importing toys from China until they could better police what they let get out of the country.

Considering the bureaucrats covered up this melamine in milk and it’s been found to be a problem in other large dairy’s in China I’d say stop importing anything powdered or liquid from China. Hmmm, considering we can’t trust them to police themselves lets just stop importing anything from China.

If we did we’d probably put a damn good sized dent in their economy and one of the blessings is Wal-Mart would actually have to start buying from other countries or, gasp, even from American companies.

To bad we don’t import a lot more from Russia? Lol, then we could put a dent in their economy too. The hell with boycotting grocery stores or restaurants, lets start boycotting countries as a way to make them change some of their policies and their aggressive tendencies.

Any industrialized country we import from. If they’re not a democracy lets just stop buying from them. Not a “on paper” democracy but a real, full fledged democracy that is recognized as such by most intelligent people from everywhere.

Yes, it’s time for worldwide boycotts. Yeah, I know, it won’t happen. At least not until some of our kids are made sick or die.

The solution is pretty simple too, don’t buy Chinese products, buy a different countries instead. Then it doesn’t even have to happen. So get the lead out, oh, and the melamine too.
